Community Southwark is the umbrella body for the voluntary and community sector in Southwark.

It supports charities and community groups with advice, training, and volunteers. It connects organisations to each other, funders, businesses and decision makers to make change, together.

Community Southwark’s Business and Community Partnerships service helps businesses to make the biggest possible impact for their staff and for the charities and community organisations in and around Southwark. They do this by supporting employees and employers to give their time, funds or other resources such as premises, to collaborate with Southwark’s voluntary and community sector for social impact.

Community Southwark’s Volunteer Platform is home to hundreds of volunteering roles from charities and community groups across Southwark, suitable for individuals as well as teams.

Opportunities to get involved

  • Team Away Day Challenges are led by skilled facilitators at a local community organisation, where you will make practical improvements that help them work more effectively. Community Southwark offers a complete service to find, plan and deliver an activity that suits your organisation. Please note, there is a charge for this service.
  • Skills and knowledge sharing: Community Southwark’s team will work with you and your colleagues to identify how your organisation’s expertise and skills can be harnessed to transform the work of one of their community partners, whether that’s running a workshop, hosting a ‘hackathon’, or providing support on a specific project.
  • Building Board Brilliance is a training programme that supports individuals to step into their first non-profit board role, whether that’s a trustee, director or governor.
