Come and visit the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at Recorra and see the journey your recycling takes before it gets sent off to be turned into brand new items.
All the materials collected by Recorra for recycling are transported back to their Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Essex. Recorra then sort recycling to the highest standards in-house, retaining quality in the recycling chain. With optical sorting facilities, magnetic sorters, eddy currents and a ballastic separator to maximise the amount of recycling sorted, Recorra’s commercial MRF is the largest in London.
There are two tours taking place. Click the links below to sign up for a time slot:

The closest train station to the yard is Purfleet. There are regular c2c trains from London Fenchurch Street to Purfleet. From Purfleet station, you can order a taxi (4 minute drive), or it is a 25 minute walk. By road our yard is around 17 miles from central London.
Our postcode will take you to the entrance of Purfleet Industrial Estate. When you arrive at the main entrance to Purfleet Industrial Park, go through the gates, past the security hut on the left hand side. Take the first left turn and continue to the end of the road where you will see Ensign Buses straight ahead of you. Turn left and follow the road which will bend around to the right. Continue to follow the road until you reach the last warehouse on the right hand side.
Please dress appropriately, as this is a working yard, and wear sturdy, toe covering shoes. High visibility jackets will be provided for the tour.
