When we got in touch last year, we began by saying that 2020 has been an extraordinary year. Who would have imagined that those extraordinary circumstances would have continued into most of 2021.
Throughout this year we have continued to adapt and prioritise our services & programme to these changing times. As businesses and their staff have gradually resumed activities, we have put great endeavours into ensuring a safe, clean and friendly return to the area.
We have also worked hard to continue to provide support, business development and social activities for members virtually and more recently once again in person.
Working with other BIDs locally and across London, we have been engaging with London local councils, the GLA and the Government to try and find ways to help with the recovery, return and new realities we all face each day.
Like many of you, we continue to adapt to new and different ways of working, but our core purpose remains the same –to support the local business community.
This is our twenty first year of working closely with businesses and other community stakeholders to co-create a programme that benefits the whole neighbourhood. The AGM is an opportunity for members to feedback on everything we have been doing to achieve that aspiration, and to discuss the shape of the programme going forward.
There is a simple process to become a member of Better Bankside, and this will allow you to vote at the AGM and stand for board and other positions in the company. These positions are unremunerated but offer an excellent opportunity to get involved in shaping our neighbourhood. Membership of Better Bankside is open to all BID levy payers, and for others at the discretion of the board.
