Join us for this monthly volunteering activity at Tabard Street and make a difference to our neighbourhood by helping to maintain the green spaces along this pedestrianised area just off Borough High Street. Volunteer tasks will include litter picking and some light gardening to keep the mini wildflower meadows looking their best, all working alongside Georgia, Better Bankside’s Urban Gardener.
This activity is part of Everybody’s Garden, a new initiative to encourage everyone in Bankside to reclaim pockets of potential green space across the neighbourhood, recognising the increased appreciation for green space and how important connecting to nature is for our wellbeing. It’s a great way to use your volunteering time and reconnect with other Banksiders whilst getting your ‘nature fix’ and giving back to our community.
We have tools, but please bring your own gardening gloves if you have them. Please also wear appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. If it’s warm, we also recommend wearing sunscreen and bringing some water with you.
You are welcome to join this event if you live or work in Bankside.
If you register but can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket with as much notice as possible to allow someone from the waiting list the opportunity to go in your place.
If you can’t make this event, we’ll restart these monthly volunteering activities at Tabard Street in the spring – new dates will be announced in early 2022.
Even though COVID restrictions have been lifted we ask that anyone feeling unwell, or displaying Covid symptoms do not attend on the day. It is also important that we continue to respect the personal boundaries and wishes of others with regards to personal space, mask wearing, and physical contact.
