Join us for this 90-minute interactive workshop with certified executive coach Jeffrey Wotherspoon on how to have difficult conversations.

No matter who you are or where you work, there are bound to be times when you are required to have difficult conversations.

This may be raising a concern, addressing inappropriate behaviour, having to disagree, saying “no” or something else that you find challenging or awkward. Most people would rather not have the conversation, and instead try to avoid it or hope it goes away. In addition, there are times when we may have a difficult conversation but in an ineffective way, which can make the situation worse.

This interactive 90 minute workshop aims to enhance skills and boost your confidence when having difficult or sensitive conversations. The emphasis will be on communicating effectively and taking a proactive approach.

We will:

  • Identify the reasons why people often find it a challenging to have difficult conversations
  • Learn principles to help you navigate any challenging conversation effectively, including de-escalating
  • Discuss best practice with regard to feedback

As the session will be interactive there will be opportunities to ask questions throughout, as well as time dedicated at the end for a Q&A.

This workshop forms part of Better You 2024, a programme of events focusing on health, wellbeing and learning new skills. We’re inviting Banksiders to join us in starting the new year in a positive way.
