Best Practices for Energy Efficiency in the Office and at Home

This in-person session will explore simple but effective tips for developing energy-saving behaviours that offices and remote workers can adopt immediately to save energy, emissions and money. Participants will be educated on low-cost energy monitoring tools tailored to small business needs, such as smart plugs and timers. Participants will be guided through an interactive office energy audit to uncover quick wins and given best practice advice around actions such as turning off devices, using LED lighting, and managing hybrid working setups. They will leave the session motivated to adopt a more energy conscious attitude in their day-to-day work, aware of the benefits of energy-saving measures and how they can be achieved.

About the Southwark Climate Collective

The Southwark Climate Collective is a partnership project led by Better Bankside, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by the Mayor of London. In 2024, the project supported 141 SMEs on their net zero journeys, achieving a range of outcomes, from energy savings and increased recycling rates to improved processes and management practices.

In the 2025-6 phase, the project is being expanded to support a wider cohort of SMEs across Southwark to prioritise climate action, through bespoke consulting support, a programme of expert-led training, Carbon Literacy Training and a suite of online resources.
