It’s been one year since the Bankside Green Champions programme launched, and we’re proud of the impact the platform has had on our businesses and in the wider community.

Bankside Green Champions is an online platform and app rewarding members for their sustainable actions through ‘green points’ —whether that is recycling, using reusable items, or travelling sustainably.

After 12 months, the top-performing team gets rewarded with £500 to donate to their charity of choice. We want to congratulate Simon Harrisons Limited, the winning business of the team competition who topped the leaderboard with the highest average points per person! They’ve chosen to donate £500 to Manna Society, a day centre for homeless people based in the London Bridge area.

There are many wins and achievements to celebrate from the programme, but we’d like to highlight some stand-out impacts from your positive actions.

Since the launch of the programme, Bankside Green Champions members have:

  • Earned 465,297 points collectively
  • Recorded 8,103 positive actions

As a result, members have collectively saved 30,052 kg of carbon emissions, which is equivalent to 50 flights from Toronto to London— a fantastic achievement to celebrate!

With 23 businesses signed up for the programme, we want to thank you all for your efforts throughout the year in taking action to improve individual and BID-wide sustainability.
