At the end of the walk, you’ll also have the chance to get involved in the Everybody’s Garden sunflower challenge by planting out some seedlings into their final location in Bankside.
All tools will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own gardening gloves if possible.

[post_content] => Join Antony Robbins, aka Mr Londoner, for a tour to uncover the secret history of Bankside - London's play side.
Historians have described Bankside as the Las Vegas of medieval London. Its story is one of chaos, playful and lewd behaviour - and just a touch of excess. This is where buttoned-up Londoners came to let off steam. Explore the sites of some of the capital’s most infamous 18th century brothels and riotous inns and taverns.
En-route we’ll see street art, lost advertising from yesteryear and discover an array of local wildlife, from bears to the Winchester geese, only discovered in this part of London.

[post_content] => StreetGym is a fun, free outdoor fitness session. See your city in a different light as we make the best use of London’s iconic urban terrain. You’ll run up to three miles guided by a professional fitness instructor, stopping along the way at various bits of street furniture and architectural features to perform bodyweight-based exercises. Be prepared to crawl, jump and climb along the way. StreetGym® is great fun, will boost overall fitness and is amazing training for obstacle races like Tough Mudder and Spartan Beast.
Meet at the Bankside Community Space from 6pm, we’ll be leaving at 6.15pm sharp. The session will comprise a ten-minute warm-up, 40 minutes exercise and ten minutes cool down. StreetGym® takes place outside so make sure you wear the right kit, a base layer and a waterproof outer layer is recommended, depending on the forecast.

[post_content] => Last summer as we emerged from lockdown one we launched Bankside Bike Trains after hearing from many of you that commuting on public transport was a key concern at the time, as you planned returns to Bankside. We also know that many of you like to cycle but feel a little bit nervous on London’s streets.
Join the ride from various London train stations and follow qualified instructors through selected quiet routes to Bankside, and back, to practice your commute. Just bring your bike and helmet (helmet is not compulsory but recommended), and high vis vests will be provided.
All rides are free for Bankside employees. Routes have been risk assessed. Register for free here.

[post_content] => Take a break from your desk over lunch and reconnect with nature by helping our urban gardener Georgia with some gentle gardening tasks at one of Better Bankside’s Green Spaces.
We have tools but if you have your own gardening gloves, please bring them with you. Please also wear appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. If it is warm, we suggest bringing some water with you and wearing sun protection.
You are welcome to join this event if you live or work in Bankside.
If you register but can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket with as much notice as possible to allow someone from the waiting list the opportunity to go in your place.
Even though COVID restrictions have been lifted we ask that anyone feeling unwell, or displaying Covid symptoms do not attend on the day. It is also important that we continue to respect the personal boundaries and wishes of others with regards to personal space, mask wearing, and physical contact.
