[post_content] => ‘Drawing Breath’ - A workshop with artist Dryden Goodwin - connected to his project ‘Breathe’ produced by Invisible Dust.
Join acclaimed artist Dryden Goodwin for a workshop exploring what it means to 'draw' breath, both into our bodies, and onto the page. Considering the tension between clean and polluted air, in this 2 hour workshop, Goodwin will lead participants to explore mark-making to bring our bodies - and our breath - to life. It will explore the role of drawing in 'animating' us - both literally in movement on the page, but also as a community as we campaign for clean air.
Produced in partnership with art-science charity Invisible Dust with the support of the Slade School of Fine Art and the UCL Knowledge Exchange Programme
Ages: 16+
The workshop is FREE - Materials provided and you are welcome to take your work home with you.
PLEASE NOTE we have limited spaces so if you sign up and can no longer attend please let us know ASAP as there is a limit to the amount of materials we can provide.

[post_content] => Join us as we hear from Hanson, founder of The Tyre Collective for an exclusive dive into the world of particulate matter. Over a million tons of tyre wear particles are produced across Europe annually. It is the second-largest microplastic pollutant in our oceans and a major source of air PM pollution. The Tyre Collective is a clean-tech start-up spearheading the capture and monitoring of tyre wear, accelerating the shift towards true zero-emission mobility. This talk will uncover the world of non-exhaust emissions and how we are tackling this stealthy pollutant one vehicle at a time! [post_content] => Climate Network Think-In for Clean Air Day
Bankside is championed for its distinct character and for thinking differently - why should this be any different when it comes to the climate crisis?
For Clean Air Day 2023, we're hosting our Climate Network Think-In to bring Banksiders together as we explore, learn and share ideas for driving climate action.
We'll hear a short presentation from each of our speakers with the chance to explore these topics in more depth through a Panel Discussion and Q&A. There will then be an opportunity to share your own ideas and explore opportunities to collaborate with local businesses in our breakout session.
Read on to meet the speakers, view the details for the event and explore the agenda.
Meet the speakers:
Dryden Goodwin, Breathe:2022 artist
How can art help us to understand the impact air pollution has on our health? Breathe:2022 by Dryden Goodwin is a multifaceted artwork combining over 1,300 new drawings appearing as large-scale still and moving images on sites close to the heavily polluted South Circular Road. Relating to the tragic death of Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah and the growing battle for climate justice, it works with the most impacted communities to connect this global health emergency to the daily lives of local Lewisham residents and activists.
Amandeep Kellay, Portfolio Manager, Impact on Urban Health
Why is air quality one of the most pressing issues for urban health? Explore the projects going on across Bankside any beyond to improve air quality for all.
Julie Tucker, Air Quality Ambassador, BE Offices
What does it mean to be an Air Quality Ambassador? Learn how we can all become champions of cleaner air.
Details
We are delighted that this Think-In will be kindly hosted by Tate Modern.
We will be in the Tate Modern Boardroom for the event - please come to the staff entrance (no. 6 on the map) on the east side and someone will be able to direct you to the room. Click on the map for more details - Tate Modern map with entrances

Better Bankside are promoting this excellent online event, free for all London businesses.
What’s stopping you from achieving your energy and carbon reduction goals? Are lights being left on when rooms are empty? Are you heating and cooling your office at the same time? Are computers being left on over the weekend? How do you generate the mindset and behaviour needed to encourage and enable employees to use energy more efficiently? In this training webinar, you will learn how cultures really change and how to apply this to your own organisation. Bringing insights from neuroscience and psychology, as well as examples drawn from frontline experience in major organisations, you will leave equipped with ideas and techniques to engage your employees and colleagues to accelerate action towards greater energy efficiency and reduced building carbon emissions.Who should attend?
This FREE training is part of The Mayor’s Business Climate Challenge, an energy efficiency programme which supports businesses to reduce their energy consumption and accelerates building decarbonisation efforts in London. The training aims to support London businesses to reduce carbon emissions from their building. Businesses based in London but are not formally part of The Mayor’s Business Climate Challenge are welcome to attend.
Why attend?
Emissions from heating and powering London’s commercial and industrial buildings currently make up 36 per cent of the capital’s carbon footprint. Decarbonising the city’s building stock is pivotal to reach the Mayor's net zero target by 2030.
Technological solutions alone will not reduce energy consumption to meet the city’s net zero target. How people use a building, regardless of its efficiency, makes a difference to the amount of energy used and carbon emissions generated.
At the end of the training webinar you should understand how best to engage employees to promote and take up the behaviours needed to use energy more efficiently.
This session will be run as a live online event and will also be recorded so that it can be accessed as a video.
