Global Recycling Day, this year taking place on 18th March, was created to help recognise the importance recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It is a day for the world to come together, and put the planet first. The day also aims to raise awareness about the importance of education about recycling and pollution.
Recycling is a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources. Each year the ‘Seventh Resource’ (recyclables) saves over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions and this is projected to increase to 1 billion tons by 2030. There is no doubt recycling is on the front line in the war to save the future of our planet and humanity.
Here at Better Bankside, our subsidised recycling scheme is continuing to help the environment and save our members money. Businesses can sign up for various recycling opportunities with Paper Round, taking advance of their services across paper, cans & plastic containers, food waste, electrical items collections and coffee cup recycling.
Last year, despite the challenging circumstances, we continued to work hard to help our members reduce their impact on the environment, including recycling an impressive 25,580 kg of paper and saving 335,371 kg of CO2.
It’s not too late to get involved and Better Bankside can help. Learn about changes that you and your team could make to protect the environment and have a positive impact on your community. To find out more and to sign up to Paper Round’s recycling services, contact info@betterbankside.co.uk
