Bankside Futures 2025 has come to a close, marking two action-packed weeks of growth, inspiration, and opportunity for 20 young people aged 16–18 from eight Southwark schools and colleges.
Thanks to the support of 25 Bankside-based businesses, participants took part in workplace visits, career talks, interactive workshops and enjoyed unique Bankside experiences. Volunteers also helped with speed-networking and mock interview activities, helping the young people gain practical experience to help them on the first steps of their career journeys.
Alongside all of this, the young people were challenged to develop social action campaigns, focusing on issues that matter to them. Working in teams or by themselves, they presented their campaigns at the Bankside Futures Celebration Event on Thursday 17 July. The fact that every young person got up to speak, some as part of a team, others by themselves, is testament to the immediate impact of the programme on their confidence.
