Calling Bankside climate activists to collaborate with Better Bankside on a neighbourhood climate hub for COP26…
Better Bankside has made a commitment to pioneer green business and become a carbon net zero neighbourhood by 2030. With a spark of leadership and the power of participation, we will energise our community into climate action.
2021 offers an opportunity to put the spotlight on Bankside’s Climate programme through a united activation aligned with the COP26 Climate Change Conference. There will be a lot of opinion, critical reflection and political agitation around climate change this year, but it may not be reflected on a neighbourhood scale. We want to help steer the local conversation and scrutinise what this means for Bankside over the next decade.
From 25 – 30 October, we will transform our Southwark Street railway arch into a Climate hub, open to the public in the run up to COP26. We want to mobilise active participation from Bankside’s businesses and the local community. Through a curated programme of events and installations, we will inspire debate and action around the core questions;
What does a carbon net zero neighbourhood actually look like?
How can we as Banksiders make a difference?
Join us on Tuesday 3 August at 11am for a virtual open call ideas session. This will be an opportunity to hear about our plans in more detail and see whether it’s something your organisation would like to get involved in.
Please RSVP by emailing Josephine Clarke, JC@betterbankside.co.uk to confirm your attendance.
